Thanks to everyone who came out to Pup*Topia last Saturday with their bffs in tow. The unseasonably cooler weather made for a great outdoor event. Kristin of Lucky Pup did an outstanding job of bringing everyone together and the turnout included dogs (and people) of every description there to see and experience Nashville's wonderful dog-related services and products.
Pup*Topia was a must-do for pampered pups and their awesome people; so, if you missed this one be sure to check out Lucky Pup, meet Kristin and try to convince her to do it again! There were tables with representatives from some of Nashville's best animal service providers and rescue organizations. It was an event where you could find dog trainers, wash your dog in Lucky Pup's self service dog wash, meet photographers who specialize in pet portraits, talk to a published author of Stretch Your Pet Healthy, eat amazing cupcakes, meet the fine folks from several doggie daycare and walking services, or even adopt a companion. But get this - they also had beer for dogs -that's right Bowser Beer was a hit though our Rudy was more interested in the traditional social ritual of "butt sniffing" than beer drinking.
We were impressed that SO many dogs could mingle in a congested area without incident. There was the occasional tangle of leashes or skirmish over a new-favorite-toy, but nothing serious. And, as best we could tell, no pups were over-served, though one became so exhausted, she had to be carried to the family car.
We're proud that Nashville is blessed with so many animal rescue agencies in these particularly tough economic times. According to everyone we've met in the rescue and animal welfare businesses, the number of dropped and abandoned animals just keeps growing. At Nashville Pet Pictures, we want to help as many of these agencies as we can by offering our photo services to help get these dogs and cats placed in responsible, loving homes.

Stay happy, stay cool and if you're a dog with too much energy, just stay!
