I met my goal and I finished the jumper on Saturday! Unfortunately I have not taken any pictures of it! It is cute and I hope that the recipient will enjoy it too. Now on to finish my Jay Walker socks and a many other projects hanging around the house!

Well - I did my best and I got as far as I could. I had a lot of problems with these socks, turns out I was reading the pattern wrong =( so I had to start over 3 times. If I had a few more hours I could have made it. But Iam really happy with the progress I made. What you are looking at is 6 days of knitting. I only started knitting in August of last year. I taught myself out of a book and had never heard of Threaded Bliss until a few months ago. (can you believe it!!How did I survive?!) So I think I've done pretty well. If you want the long version stop by the ol' blog. But my fingers hurt and it is hard to type LOL!!! I'm sure you can relate!

...but no delay in finishing!!
Unfortunately I had to use an alternate closure (to call it finished!) - the custom zipper I had ordered a week ago has yet to make it's appearance. I. Love. This. Sweater. And. Yarn. (Psst - If you love it too, it's available for free download now from their website!) Can't wait to put the zipper in to wear it properly!

We ( Jenny and Shawn) finished !!!! our Olympic projects. Shawn's first hat was perfect and my hat was already sent to its new owner in Switzerland. The sweater was a perfect fit for my little boy and he wore it today. Levi is our Bronze medalist. She learned a new technique, but didn't complete the blanket. She ( much like some of the US team) had obstacles ( 4 children and her crazy week at work) to overcome. We are hoping she will win in 2010 Vancouver. We are proud of you all and look foward to another challenge. How about the Iron Man ( Iron Needles for us)? Three projects for the triathalon!!!

I'm finished!
I finished today at 1:32pm. I came up with some modifications to the pattern that made the fit in the heel and leg better (some odd tapering was involved for the leg) and ripped back the sock I had finished to before the heel and redid it. The reason: I had an ugly loop left over from doing the short-row heel wrong, and I originally knitted the leg in stockinette, which I decided I didn't like. So I left it on the needle without binding off, and knit sock 2 in the lace pattern with some mods to make it work. And liked it, very very much! So I finished sock 2 last night and then today was spent redoing sock 1 to make it match. I am very happy! I finished!
Yarn: Socks That Rock, Red Rock Canyon
Pattern: Elfine's Socks
Needle: 40" Addi Turbo, size US 0

Yahoo! I'm going to ice my hand, take an Advil, make a sandwich and work on freelance. There will be no further knitting today or tomorrow. I need a break!

AND I'M NOT READY!! I've got it 3/4 done and I'm having hand pain, but I'm pressing through since this is such a great sweater and I've got a challenge to meet. I did not work on it last night, since we were looking at homes in Lexington, KY (yes, Sheila, we will be moving...waaaaaaa...) it was bound to happen since I've finally found a wonderful LYS AND a hair salon that does a wonderful job (Breon in Berry Hill) and NOW that I've got my home all situated it's time to move, less than a year in the house as well.. SO, if anyone knows of any LYS in Lexington please email me I NEED to know, but never fear, we'll be coming back to visit since we have friends here and still love Nashville.
So here is what I have done so far, the neck has been closed and I'm at the end of the 3" of 190 stitches before I decrease 104 stitches to work on the next sleeve. THEN the sewing together, etc..
I think I did really well and who knows, maybe I'll have it done by the end of next week so I can show it off for spring!
Happy knitting!
