First of all, I am OKAY. There's some bruises, some bumps, some sprains, road rash, an ankle splint, a ridiculously swollen knee and a pair of crutches but really, I am abundantly blessed.
I wrote out a great story about all of this yesterday on a notepad, planning to post when I could get up the stairs to this computer. While I made it up here just now - it probably wasn't the best idea. Also my pain meds are kicking in so I'm headed back to bed. I'll write the story out one of these days to post.
Here's the very short version - Monday early evening (still light out) I was crossing a side street off Elliston Place and got hit by a mini-van. The driver went to jail and I got an ambulance ride to the ER. The idiot behind the wheel (of the car that hit me, NOT the ambulance!) had no license, no insurance, no registration and a stolen license plate. He lied to the cops and he also has a 7 page record of traffic accidents and violations already (and he's only 38). I'm blessed for sure because nothing is broken, I did not hit my head or hurt my back and most of all I'm not dead.
This is my swollen right knee:
If you don't get queasy easily, here's my left foot.
I'm not able to get around too much but Tim & I think that we can at least get me to SnB tomorrow night as it's going to be my last one for a while.
Also, out of this whole mess may have emerged the perfect name for my new blog:
A BLESSED MESS or maybe Focal Harmony!
You guys suggested lots of great names - many already in use and I've decided to get away from knitting as a focus (not that it's been much about knitting lately!)

By-the-way, you have pretty feet. And they were all manicured up and everything!
I once sprained my ankle while helping a boy I totally had it bad for. He took off my sock and I was mortified when I looked down and remembered that I had not finished removing all of my black chipped nail polish. It looked like I had dirty toes or a nail fungus.

OMG! So sorry to hear you were injured, but thankful you are intact and not seriously injured! It's amazing how many stupid people there are out there and now we know why our insurance rates are so high! The ones without are always below the radar (7 pages of violations. How many did he need to be put in jail permanently??) Take care and I miss you!

I'm saving the rest of the story for Stitch 'n Bitch. Just remember, truth is always stranger than fiction (and to the commenters on flickr, the pedicure is part of the rest of the story!)

Ouch! Take advantage of the help that people will offer you, right now, and don't overdo it! Hope you'll be on your feet without crutches soon.
