Stashing

as discussed on Knitters' Review.

I understand!  Do you?

Grey Skies Are Gonna Clear Up

Because Blue Sky Alpacas yarns are on the way to Threaded Bliss.  LOTS of colors of their Dyed Cotton and all of the Organic Cottons plus their delectable Alpaca/Silk will be the first yarns to arrive (along with lots of great patterns too!)

It seems that 2007 is the year of change at Threaded Bliss and the best little yarn shop that could just keeps getting better and better!

Stay tuned...

I Love Ann and Kay

This may be the best post ever on a knitblog!

Doo Yoo Yahoo?

I just couldn't resist this one:

23 Mar, Fri, 14:50:54    Yahoo:  Was Rod Stewart in Brentwood, TN?

Now, if Rod Stewart were to be in Brentwood, what do you suppose is the likelihood that he'd be in a yarn shop?

Friends and Finished Objects and Fun

Beware:  I feel another disjointed post coming on.  Although it feels kind of like the flu, I think I'm just suffering some major spring allergies.  Ah, Nashville!

Look at what Joy made using one strand of Jaggerspun Zephyr (lace weight wool/silk and totally to die for!) and one strand of Tahki Baby Kid Extra (lace weight mohair blend - also to die for!).

Here's a close-up of the stitch pattern.

It really is so beautiful and just like a lot of people we know, Joy's much better at this knitting thing than she thinks she is so give her the kudos and praise she deserves!

So, above we have the "finished object" and next we have more friends (and fun!):

and even more fun . . .

Harley_says_hola

Really, it's not a sombrero but a pig snout and the beginning of a pig head for the amigurumi pig.  To see the completed pig body just click here

I'm Declaring A Tie!

I decided that Kaye Janet's suggestion of both was more shrug-like than shawl-like so there were 9 votes for shrug and 9 votes for shawl.  Hmmmmmmmmmmm....decisions, decisions, decisions.  But picking a contest winner was the easy part thanks to this.  The random number generator picked number 12 so that means Mary Sigman wins the prize!

Here's what she's getting:  Contest_prize_322

Now what fun would getting a prize package be if you already knew what is inside?  So the contents stay a secret until Mary gets the mail!

Thanks to all who entered - Jenn S is right, "contests are fun!"

So, which am i going to make?

Stay tuned!

Doo Yoo Google?

22 Mar, Thu, 15:20:49    Google Images:  harleys
22 Mar, Thu, 15:37:05    Google:  threaded bliss
22 Mar, Thu, 15:51:51    Google:  cute things in nashville tn
22 Mar, Thu, 15:56:14    Google:  knit easter peeps

Sometimes these search strings really crack me up!!

Thanks go to all the fine folks at tonight's stitch 'n bitch - a blast was had by all again (and we've gone bi-craftual to boot - knitters are doing crochet, crocheters are knitting and all is well with the world!!)

And speaking of the joys of knitting with friends - you should all read Jennifer C's awesome post about a knit night with friends.  Jennifer C. just rocks!

The Shawl's Only Slightly Ahead of the Shrug!

With 15 votes (one of which was a vote for "both!") there are 7 votes for a shrug!  It's neck and neck (there's a pun in there somewhere!)

There's still time to get your votes in - and I'm still working on a cool prize idea!

I'm not feeling too great this morning so this post is probably going to seem all over the place so bear with me!

The Dream In Color shrug is coming along great - I've passed the halfway point.  I am LOVING this pattern - it's a fun knit, an easy-peasy lace pattern and the yarn is heaven in fiber form.

I'm still hooking away on my amigurumi pig - the "appendectomy scar" on his belly is just gonna stay!  It's fun though.  Pics to come of that later.

It's Thursday and we know what that means - The Best Damn Stitch 'n Bitch Around happens this evening!  Come on down and join us for yet another night of good friends, good yarns, great projects and great company.

Oh yeah - I was intereviewed for Williamson A.M. the other day (I live in Davidson county so it's not in my paper!) and I think the article is running today!  If I can find a link to it, I'll post it.  Fun, huh?  I enjoyed the intereview and the reporter was really nice.

Now for something completely different (just kidding) here's some new Harley pics taken with our newest addition - a Leica digital point & shoot.

There are some more pics taken with the new camera up on Flickr so if you are interested, you can see them here, they are the ones whose "names" start with the letter L.  You can also see th newest addition to our family (or family to be) - The As Yet to be Finally Named Old English Sheepdog pup (potentially Zoe) adopted last weekend by my soon to be sister-in-law.  Lily is their cat.

More Dreaming

Have you seen the great hat pattern at Dream in Color that uses just one skein of their AMAZING hand-dyed, worsted weight merino?
