The Cats Got My Tongue

almost literally!  It seems that Harley's newest plaything is my bottom lip, especially if I am sleeping.

Sorry that I've been so quiet on the blog lately but I've been busy, busy, busy.  Here's a quick rundown of miscellany:

We're getting new stuff at the shop everyday including wonderful Alpaca from Garnstudio that is available in 27 awesome colors.  Each skein has 198 yards on it and retails for only $8.50!  It knits at 5.75 stitches to the inch and there are TONS and TONS of free patterns for this (and all Garnstudio yarns) available here.  Also from Garnstudio is a wonderful, washable baby wool in lots of colors.  The Cherry Tree Hill yarns, at least what's left of them, are still taking my breath away daily - I hand the wound balls to their new owners a tad reluctantly yet I know they are all going to very good homes!!!

I started this post during a break at the shop this afternoon when I still had some energy but got busy and saved the draft . . . now I'm too tired to remember everything else I wanted to say.

told ya, cats got my tongue!

P.S. I hope everyone is enjoying this balmy weather since I hear it's about to end...but in its wake, KNITTING WEATHER - YIPPEE

Shelby Models a Sally W Original

Spiffy, no?

1006_001_shelby_models_sally_w_original

Grandma Sally W made her granddog this sweater and I'd say the dog's feeling pretty proud!  Great job, Sally.  Just wait until I get the picture of the great blanket Sally made for her grandson - the human kind, it's awesome too.

Apropos of Nothing

Metro Water actually contends that in the last 15 days I owned my house in Green Hills I actually used

47,127 gallons of water.

Suffice it to say, my final water bill is a bit steep!  For the four years that I lived there, my average water usage was about 1400 gallons a month.  Yet, they don't see a problem with the last bill.  (Please buy yarn!!!!)

Hmmmmmmmmm....

Wow, I feel better now - I simply HAD to vent that one!  Thanks for listening now get back to your holiday knitting.  On my needles right now is a most non-denominational stocking to hang on the store's fireplace.  Wonder if there will be anything in it on the 25th?  (I think that once when I was a kid I hung some of my socks on this wire sculpture my parents had hanging over their fireplace "just in case.")

Vogue_holiday_2005_cover_1Believe it or not but this great sweater is actually Kristen's first knitting project . . . ever!!  She did a fantastic job and we all agreed at the shop that she looks ADORABLE in this sweater from the cover of Vogue Knitting's Holiday 2005 issue.
