This Simply Can't Wait Any Longer

If Ann can admit it, if even Stephanie can admit it, then by gollie I can do it too.

I have a confession to make.

For the longest time I have been and even more so now I still am Completely, Unutterably, and Enormously Starstruck and Awestruck by the likes of Ann, Kay and Stephanie.

That within the short span of seven days all three of my penultimate knit blogging, book writing, all around modern heroines deemed Threaded Bliss Yarns worthy of a book signing event still has my mind completely blown.  That within the same short span my blog readership has pretty much tripled because the events were deemed worthy of blogging by the too-cool-for-words-triumvirate of Ann, Kay and Stephanie has me checking the stats obsessively and shaking my head in wonderment.

Thank you and welcome to all the folks making their first trek to My Threaded Bliss!

For someone who thinks she's speechless - I'm sure running through the adjectives today!

I confess that I was incredibly nervous about both events.  I confess that I was beyond incredibly nervous to meet Stephanie (thank goodness that I at least already knew Ann and Kay before now so that part wasn't as scary!).  I confess that I still worry that I spent a lot of time lately sounding like a blubbering idiot.  I confess that I have spent an inordinate amount of time feeling like I am back in junior high school and just hoping beyond hope that the cool kids would like me.

I actually did real-life, normal stuff with these women.  You know, real stuff like talking, having dinner, sharing moon pies, whoopie pies and amstel lites (don't fret, I knew better than to offer a Lite beer to a Canadian).  It still feels like a dream.

ASIDE:  Isn't it funny that Stephanie wouldn't try the fried okra but did try a Moon Pie??? (I could probably be that kind of vegetarian!)

Looking out across my shop from my perch on the ladder in the back and seeing a sea of smiling faces, laughing folks, and a bazillion stitches being knit was beyond gratifying.  That I actually did something and created a situation that made so many people so apparently happy is among my greatest accomplishments (to date - I'm not done yet!!!)

That I have David, Niquie, Wade, Emily and my Mom in my life and so willing to help with so much means that my heart REALLY IS blessed.

Confession - good for the soul, right?

I apologize for the disjointed post but I'm still in shock!

Don't forget about the caption contest - I've decided to up the ante!  If there are 40 or more entries, I'll throw in a signed copy of Mason Dixon Knitting too for the winner!

Thanks for reading this.

This Is Gonna Be FUN - It's A Caption Contest

Every now and then life gets so amazing and wonderful and inspiring that it just seems surreal.  That is the past 8 days. The last time I felt like this is chronicled right here.  In fact, I'm very glad I could tell a story in pictures because 24 hours later I've still not found my words.

So here's the deal. I have a signed copy of Knitting Rules for the person who writes the best story with captions to accompany the photo essay caption for at least one of the photos I posted of Stephanie's visit to the shop. (there's an extra bonus for captioning all of them and winning!) Leave your entries in the comments and get them in before the deadline of this Monday Tuesday at 6:00 a.m. CST. I'll announce the winner on Tuesday Wednesday morning on the blog and hopefully (internet g-ds willing - in a newsletter too!).  I'm more likely than not to enlist the help of Phyllis, David, Wade, Emily and my Mom in picking the winner.

Have at it!

Oh yeah, here is a wildcard picture that you can add or not add.  Also, to see any picture on this blog bigger, all you have to do is put your cursor on the picture and click.  With lots of them, that's the best way to go.  I can't wait to start reading the entries!!!

3:44 a.m.

and I haven't slept yet.  I think these past seven days have just been so SPECTACULAR with today being a double whammy that I'm just overstimulated and sleep probably isn't gonna happen!

They haven't started yet but I've been feeling the build up of happy tears for hours now.

I'm about to post an all picture entry - words to come later!

Email

Please consider this a BIG BLANKET apology.  In the past few weeks, the volume of email I receive each day has gone through the roof.  I do my best to respond to all of them but I admit, it's completely out of hand at this point.  I'm actually way too embarassed to admit to the number of unread messages currently in my inbox!  It's ridiculous.

So, if you've sent me an email to which I didn't respond: a) please don't take it personally and b) if it contained a question I haven't answered you can resend the email or better yet, call the shop.

I try . . .

Guess what . . .

I don't have it in me to turn anyone away from the only chance they'll have in the state to see the Harlot.  If you aren't on the list, you most likely will have to stand but you'll still be here and she's using a microphone so you'll be able to hear her just fine.

See ya tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek

Less than one hour!

T Minus Two Hours & 14 Minutes For One Thing

and T Minus 11 hours and 45 minutes for the other!

What a day - a new house and the Yarn Harlot coming to Threaded Bliss all on the same day is possibly one of the biggest days (rivaling last week's event with the Mason Dixon Knitting girls).

Wow.

I did actually sleep, albeit fitfully and briefly.  So if/when you see me today, don't tell me how bad the bags under my eyes look today, okay?

Hey, I think this is all just starting to hit me.  Here's how I know this . . . I just felt my face fill up with "that grin" that I get when I am

SO SO SO SO SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!! (about all of it)
