Don't forget Stitch 'N Bitch Tonight.
We will be closed for the Easter holiday this Sunday.
Tonight is Stitch 'N Bitch and it will be a blast as always. Hope you can join us.
I'll start off with one of Rudy seriously guarding his sheep - cute, huh?
Now just what could all these grown-ups be looking at so seriously? As for those crazy people my family, well maybe they seriously need help!
Could they be looking at yet another adorable bundle of absolutely, serious cuteness, otherwise known as the center of the universe my nephew...
Now that is some very serious scooter-riding, no?
Here's the nephew and his new puppet/pal/George (a fifth birthday present from Aunt Sheila!)...
Doesn't he look so serious there?
Update: Artful Yarns' Spring 2005 Trunk Show gets to stay at our shop for two extra weeks!!! That said, there are about three weeks left to study the awesome crocheted cardigan using their new yarn Candy. Speaking of Artful Yarns' Spring line-up - have I mentioned how in love I am with their new cotton/angora blend Serenade? No, I haven't? Well then, let me tell you - I LOVE IT. It's soft as can be and the colors are great. Photos to come (that's part of the promises section of this post!)
Update: Central Tennessee Knitters' Meetup meets today at the shop at 1:00 pm. This is a great group and we all had a blast last month. Come on down and meet everyone!
Update: The second-taking of inventory continues as does my absolute bewilderment over how it could have gone so very wrong the first time. If you've been around the shop, you've probably heard at least part of the "saga." Along the same lines, the mess left by the f.b. also astounds me by its very magnitude. OY. VEY. Through all of this, my learning curve has popped back up to that 89 degree point. Much more of this and I'll fall right over. That said, overall and despite it all, I'm feeling much better about it all. :-)
Update: Tyna started working in the shop this past week and we are totally thrilled to have her. If you've not met her yet, you should stop by and say hello. If you come on a Sunday afternoon, you can also meet her great daughter Livvy (if only Livvy were old enough to have a job!)
Update: Emily starts her internship today. If I were you, I'd be sure to meet her now before she's a world-famous knitwear designer! Not only is Emily a ton of fun to be around, happy, perky and smart but she is very talented and both knits and crochets beautifully. Hear that guys? C-R-O-C-H-E-T. We have finally achieved a true crochet-er on staff. YIPEE.
And Such: To the woman who brought me the lovely daffodils yesterday (you know who you are) THANK YOU for the flowers and the sweet note. The same goes for the other woman (you also know who you are!) that wrote me the note that brought tears of joy and reminded me again how blessed I am by those people who have come into my life. THANK YOU BOTH.
Promise: PICTURES. I'll do my best to start using the camera again. The photo I took with it of the Tab and donut may have renewed by faith in my crappy camera after all so I'll see if I can make it work well once again!
And Such: Thursday night brought us another awesome Stitch 'N Bitch. Times like that show me that with my yarn shop, I've created what I always wanted in a local yarn store: not just great merchandise but a community center/clubhouse/haven for those who love the fiber arts. Thank you again to all of our wonderful customers who make this shop the fantastic place it has become.
And Such: Don't miss our piece in tomorrow's Shopping Savvy (Sunday Tennessean/Life Section/Right in the Center). We're making an announcement/introduction about which we are all VERY, VERY excited!
Alright, I better get to work!
Thanks for stopping by the blog.
We got more patterns for Artful Yarns' great new spring yarns. They are, for now, first come, first served since only 6 of each showed up. The shipment did include the gorgeous Candy crocheted cardigan that is part of our current trunk show.
Get yours while they are hot!
Also just in are the awesome Knit Stick Sacks from Ashland Sky. We got the pink ones since portions of the profits on these items goes to benefit breast cancer research. We have all sizes and I have to say that the circular needle case is the greatest circular needle case EVER!
In other news, inventory continues. Grrrrrrrrrrrr - 'nuff said about THAT.
We have two new members of our AWESOME staff. Tyna has joined us as a regular staff member and Emily is coming onboard as an intern with a focus on knitwear design. How cool is that? Ask and ye shall receive, right? Come in this weekend and say hi to these wonderful women. That said, my current employment needs are now limited to people willing to teach classes. Let me know if you are interested in teaching knitting and/or crochet.
I've re-ordered and added to the Did You Know? section of the page.
if it's green and it's yarn and it's not already on sale and it's between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
. . . then it's 15% off!
Sorry to say that the jello shots won't make it. Suffice it to say, cooking isn't like knitting and if you haven't messed around in a kitchen much lately, it IS possible to screw up jello!
