Threaded Bliss's First New Knitters
These lovely and apparently quite talented young ladies, Michelle and Abby, belong to one of my oldest friends. In fact, there are probably pictures to be found of their mother and I together at the ages the girls are now. On opening day, Abby and Michelle came to finally start learning to knit. I was excited, their mom was excited and they were excited - I think we all had a ball. I am already looking forward to their next visit and to seeing the girls' progress on their first scarves (and hearing all about their new puppy - being trained by the same person that trained my RudyBear).
As for the past two days, I am still stunned. I am amazed and ever so flattered by the interest so many have shown in this blog and my shop and just can't seem to stop this grinning thing! Getting to meet so many people who have actually read the blog is incredible. I thought sharing this adventure solely through the web was great but getting to meet and personally thank so many folks who've read here, commented here. encouraged me and emailed me is such a treat.
I've always said that the greatest things about knitting and crochet are the people that do them. Threaded Bliss Yarns is meant to be a very comfortable, warm, and inviting place. I see it as a place where people can come to hang out, to shop and to take a break from the more mundane parts of daily life. I hope that the store itself and the employees will nurture people's creativity, foster their passion for fiber arts and provide an atmosphere that takes the most advantage of the best part of the fiber arts - the people themselves and the community they create when they come together out of a shared passion. We should all think of it as a place where we can come together to learn from each other, inspire each other, and encourage each other.
I'm not sure if it's been visible in the other pictures but I think this sign above the fireplace captures this part of the shop's mission rather well:
On that note, I'm off to bed.
Congratulations! The store looks beautiful. Best wishes for much success and happiness.
