This morning started with a challenge by tweet.  Someone at the Myelin Repair Foundation near where I used to live and work in the Bay Area, challenged me to write a Twitter poem about myelin.  For those who don't tweet, twitter is a "microblog" and you can update your status at any time but you can never do so with more than 140 characters and that includes spaces too.

Well, have any of you ever known me to turn down a challenge?  I came up with two that I like.

1)  My myelin covers my nerves, 
 it bends, twists, & curves but it 
 can't escape my t-cells’ assault 
 and that is all MS’s fault.

2) MRF does collaborate. 
 Can they fix the myelin my MS ate? 
 Will new cells really re-myelinate? 
 Now that is something I'd appreciate.

That was fun.

A Chronicle: The All-Nighter of Oh-Nine a.k.a. Itchypalooza

Still playing around with watermarks.  I think if I can make them interesting in and of themselves, then they won't be annoying and no one can steal my work in this big mean world of the internets.

Huge nest of chiggers devoured each leg and poison ivy sprang up on my wrist, hence the itchy factor.  That's what happens when you drop a city girl in the country for a few hours!

Just how itchy was it?  Look for Carman in an earlier post for an idea of how itchy it was.

Rudy On The Porch

This is my security system when I sit on the front porch to do some work or whatever. Well, he is one part of our security system at least!

A nice cop pulled over the other day when I was taking photos in front of the house just to say hi. And to tell me that a dog's the best protection one can have. Oh, and to ask what I do for a living.

I told him Rudy rocked. I told him I am a budding writer. It turns out he'd bet his partner that's what I did (when they do patrol and see me, I'm usually on the front porch either typing or writing). He was curious about the camera though since he's seen me around with that too. I told him writing and fine art photography are two of my passions and that if I have writer's block, I'll take pictures to inspire me or the other way around.

Apparently, this nice policeman wants to be a writer too. If I were him, I'd trade the body armor for a keyboard or notebook in a New York minute.
